Music in Weight Room

Post by RandomJabroni » Wed Jul 10, 2019 10:03 am

There was an interesting question on Twitter about weight room music.

1. Do you allow music?
2. Does it need to edited?
- If so, to what extent? Certain words ok, others absolutely off-limits (F Word, N word etc.)?
3. Who makes the playlist?

Music is ingrained as part of the living and breathing part of our culture. Our kids cling to it. It helps drive them. Use it to your advantage!

I work in a private Christian setting and have stood my ground on why we should play what the kids want. Mainstream hip hop is blared through the speakers daily. My take is, why not use it for your advantage instead of against?

If it becomes a distraction, have a plan to address it.
